Analytics Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in their search for an Analytics Engineer to join their Product Intelligence team. This is a hands-on role focused on building the data modelling infrastructure that powers product decisions across the organization. You'll be working at the foundation layer—owning dbt models, metric definitions, and semantic layer contributions that analysts, product teams, and AI tools rely on for consistent, trustworthy insights.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, embedded directly within a team that's actively modernizing their analytics stack. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dbt models using a clean, layered architecture within a modern cloud data warehouse environment
• Own tracking plan implementation and quality assurance in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams
• Model experimentation data into structured formats that enable direct querying by analysts and product managers
• Define and document metrics in the semantic layer to ensure consistent definitions across BI tools and AI applications
• Partner with Product Managers and Analysts to transform ad-hoc questions into durable, reusable data models
• Maintain data quality through comprehensive testing, freshness SLAs, and proactive monitoring
• Support migration efforts from legacy analytics tools to a modern stack
• Apply AI-augmented practices as part of standard data modelling workflows

What We're Looking For

• Strong SQL and dbt experience with demonstrated ownership of models end-to-end
• Working knowledge of event-based tracking tools such as Segment or Amplitude
• Experience with Git-based development workflows including pull request reviews
• Clear communication skills to explain data definitions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Active use of AI tooling as part of your daily coding and workflow routine
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and refactoring legacy logic into modern foundations
• Experience in product-led environments with both technical execution and stakeholder collaboration

This role is not suitable if: You prefer dashboard creation without owning underlying data models, require rigid processes before taking initiative, or want to avoid data migration and legacy system refactoring work.
