Technical Lead

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization seeking a Technical Lead to drive delivery of production-level intelligent solutions. Working in a player-manager capacity, you will lead technical delivery across the full solution stack—from data ingestion and processing pipelines through to API and application layers—ensuring quality, reliability, and security throughout.

In this role, you will act as the primary technical point of contact for client engineering and operations teams, building strong relationships and representing our client's technical approach with confidence. You will lead and mentor a cross-functional squad of data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers, setting standards and providing direction through code reviews and architectural decisions.

Working closely with Solution Architects, you will translate design into day-to-day delivery decisions, manage technical risk, and escalate where needed. This is a hands-on leadership position—you will contribute directly to delivery alongside leading the team, maintaining a strong understanding of the codebase and platform at all times.

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a technical leader with 5+ years in technical roles, including at least 2 years in a technical lead or equivalent player-manager capacity. You must have a proven track record leading technical delivery in client-facing or consulting environments.

You should be able to work across both software and data engineering domains, comfortable reviewing and unblocking React/TypeScript frontend work, Python (FastAPI/Django) or.NET backend work, and Azure data pipeline work—even if you don't write every line yourself.

Required technical experience includes:

• Hands-on delivery on Microsoft Azure, specifically Event Hubs, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Digital Twins, AKS/containers, and Azure AI services
• Backend development: Python (FastAPI/Django),.NET
• Frontend development: React, TypeScript
• Setting engineering standards and mentoring engineers through delivery

You must be comfortable serving as the primary technical face to clients in regulated, critical-infrastructure environments, able to translate technical trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders and engage confidently with client architects. The ability to work autonomously in a small, internationally distributed team while staying tightly coordinated with Solution Architects and the wider delivery organization is essential.

A relevant Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.

Advantageous qualifications:

• Experience in utilities or other regulated/asset-intensive sectors, particularly operational technology, SCADA integration, or control-room environments
• Familiarity with environmental compliance, pollution event management, or network asset monitoring
• Microsoft certifications (AZ-204, AZ-400, AI-102), Databricks, or other relevant cloud/data credentials
• Knowledge of data governance, quality frameworks, and security practices in regulated environments
