Senior Manager, Product Security

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential enterprise SaaS organization in their search for a Senior Manager, Product Security. Our client operates a platform trusted by large enterprises for mission-critical business planning and analysis. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a product security team responsible for application security, infrastructure and cloud security, offensive security, and vulnerability management.

The position is based in Manchester and reports to the Director of Product Security. You will be accountable for translating security strategy into measurable outcomes, building and scaling a high-performing team, and partnering with engineering leadership to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the product security team across application security, infrastructure security, offensive security, and vulnerability management—including hiring, coaching, performance management, and retention
• Own the operating rhythm: run sprint planning, triage, and retrospectives; balance business-as-usual vulnerability management with strategic projects and capability building
• Drive secure SDLC integration by ensuring threat modeling, design reviews, and security tooling are embedded into engineering workflows from the start
• Translate scanner output, penetration test findings, and threat intelligence into prioritized remediation plans that engineering teams execute
• Scale security through automation, guardrails, and developer-facing self-service tooling to increase coverage without linear headcount growth
• Partner with engineering and platform leadership to influence roadmaps and ensure security trade-offs are understood at the appropriate decision-making level
• Coordinate response for product security incidents, run post-mortems, and ensure findings translate into durable fixes
• Provide clear, honest reporting on risk posture, coverage gaps, team capacity, and program health to the Director and broader leadership

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience leading a product or application security team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
• Broad technical grounding across at least two of: application security, cloud/infrastructure security, offensive security, and vulnerability management
• Hands-on history in secure SDLC practices—threat modeling, design reviews, security tooling in CI/CD—sufficient to credibly challenge and guide your team's work
• Ability to prioritize ruthlessly and separate high-impact risk reduction from low-value activity
• Experience building cross-functional partnerships with engineering, product, and platform teams, influencing without owning the delivery backlog
• Clear, direct communication skills—able to present risk, trade-offs, and program status to senior leadership without hiding behind jargon
• Comfort operating in a product-led, engineering-heavy organization where security earns its seat through credibility and delivery
