Senior Manager, Product Security

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential enterprise SaaS organization in their search for a Senior Manager, Product Security based in London. This is a hands-on people leadership role where you'll own day-to-day operations of a product security function spanning application security, cloud and infrastructure security, offensive security, and vulnerability management.

You will report to the Director of Product Security and be accountable for turning security strategy into measurable outcomes. Your remit includes:

• Leading and developing a high-performing product security team: hire, coach, and retain engineers across multiple security disciplines, setting clear expectations and building a team that delivers improvements, not just findings
• Owning the operating rhythm: running sprint planning, triage, and retrospectives while calibrating work across business-as-usual vulnerability management, strategic projects, and longer-term capability development
• Driving secure SDLC integration: embedding threat modelling, design reviews, and security tooling into engineering workflows rather than bolting them on after the fact
• Prioritizing based on real risk: translating scanner output, penetration test findings, and threat intelligence into actionable remediation plans that engineering teams execute
• Scaling security through automation and self-service: investing in tooling, guardrails, and developer-facing documentation that increase coverage without linear headcount growth
• Partnering with engineering and platform leadership: representing product security in cross-functional planning, influencing roadmaps, and ensuring security trade-offs are understood at appropriate levels
• Managing security incidents: coordinating response for product security incidents, running post-mortems, and ensuring findings translate into durable fixes
• Reporting on programme health: providing clear, honest reporting on risk posture, coverage gaps, and team capacity to leadership

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience leading a product or application security team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
• Broad technical grounding across at least two of: application security, cloud/infrastructure security, offensive security, and vulnerability management
• Hands-on history in secure SDLC practices—threat modelling, design reviews, security tooling in CI/CD pipelines—with enough depth to credibly challenge your team's work
• Ability to prioritize ruthlessly and separate high-impact risk reduction from low-value compliance activities
• Experience building cross-functional partnerships with engineering, product, and platform teams, influencing without owning delivery backlogs
• Clear, direct communication skills—able to present risk, trade-offs, and programme status to senior leadership without jargon
• Comfort operating in a product-led, engineering-heavy organization where security earns its seat through credibility, not authority

This is not a project management role. We need genuine technical depth combined with the management maturity to build and scale a team that ships security outcomes.
