Role Overview

As a Carpenter with Messer Construction, you'll bring skilled craftsmanship to high-impact commercial building projects. Working alongside experienced teams, you'll play an essential role in constructing the spaces and structures that shape our communities—from measuring and cutting materials to installing framing, drywall, trim, and finish work. This is a hands-on position that demands attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to quality that reflects Messer's 90-year reputation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to ensure precise execution
• Measure, mark, cut, and install wood, metal, and other building materials
• Frame walls, ceilings, and structural components to specification
• Install drywall, trim, hardware, and finish materials with attention to quality standards
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with plans and building codes
• Collaborate with subcontractors, foremen, and project managers to meet timelines
• Maintain a clean and organized job site while adhering to all safety protocols

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar skilled trade position
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in commercial construction
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
• Understanding of building codes, safety standards, and OSHA requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Physical ability to perform the demands of carpentry work, including standing, lifting, and working at heights
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver's license preferred
