Quality Control Technician

Hercules Materials Holdings LLC. is hiring a full-time Quality Control Technician to join the team at its new production facility in Toledo, Ohio (Cleveland County) — a hands-on technical role at the front line of materials quality.

About the Role

As a Quality Control Technician at Hercules Materials Holdings LLC., you'll work directly alongside plant management and end-use customers to ensure every batch of concrete and related construction materials meets specification before it leaves the facility. This is a field-active position inside a brand-new plant — ideal for someone who thrives on physical, problem-solving work and takes personal ownership of product quality across every stage of production.

What You'll Do

• Collect, prepare, and test concrete samples at multiple points throughout the production cycle using established ASTM and industry-standard procedures
• Conduct fresh concrete tests including slump, air content, unit weight, and temperature measurements
• Cast, label, cure, and break concrete cylinders to verify compressive strength at required intervals
• Record test data accurately and maintain detailed quality documentation for each production run
• Communicate test results clearly to plant supervisors and relay any out-of-spec findings in real time
• Support customer interactions on-site by providing technical transparency around material performance
• Keep testing equipment calibrated, clean, and in proper working order
• Identify trends or anomalies in test data and escalate concerns proactively

What We're Looking For

• A highly motivated self-starter who embraces technical challenges and takes initiative without close supervision
• Hands-on aptitude for materials testing in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment
• ACI Field Testing Technician certification (Grade I) is a strong advantage; willingness to obtain certification is acceptable
• Solid attention to detail and comfort working with precise measurement instruments and structured data entry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting results to management and customers
• Ability to work outdoors and on the production floor in varying conditions, and to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• High school diploma or GED required; coursework or an associate degree in construction technology, chemistry, or a related field is a plus
