Safety & Health Manager

Black & Veatch is seeking a Safety & Health Manager to join our Overland Contracting operations team in Orlando, Orange County. Position Summary

The Safety & Health Manager will play a critical leadership role in maintaining and advancing our safety and health standards across our construction operations in the Orlando region. In this position, you'll develop and implement safety protocols that protect our workforce, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and reinforce our commitment to bringing every team member home safely at the end of each day. This is a full-time role where you'll work directly with project teams, site management, and leadership to embed a proactive safety culture throughout our operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute safety programs, hazard assessments, and incident prevention strategies for ongoing construction projects
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure adherence to OSHA standards and company policies
• Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks for field crews, reinforcing best practices and compliance requirements
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and field teams to address safety concerns and optimize work procedures
• Monitor safety metrics and reporting, and communicate performance data to leadership and teams
• Stay current with changing regulations and industry standards, recommending updates to safety programs as needed

What You Bring

• Proven experience managing safety programs in construction or a related field
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams
• Detail-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to develop and track safety metrics
• A genuine passion for protecting workers and fostering a strong safety culture
• Ability to work effectively across multiple projects and coordinate with field-based personnel
