Class A CDL Owner Operator – 2yrs EXP Required – OTR – Flatbed

Baggett Transportation is seeking experienced Class A CDL owner operators with a minimum of two years over-the-road experience to operate flatbed and stepdeck trailers from our Asheville, Buncombe County location. As a full-time owner operator with Baggett, you'll run either solo or as a team driver, hauling specialized freight across the country while keeping the majority of your earnings.

You'll operate your own flatbed or stepdeck rig, transporting specialized freight nationwide. This is owner-operator work—you're building your own business with Baggett as your freight partner. You'll receive consistent loads, competitive compensation (70–75% of line haul plus 100% fuel surcharge), minimal deductions, and dedicated support to keep you on the road and profitable. Responsibilities

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Secure, inspect, and manage flatbed or stepdeck freight before, during, and after transport
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues promptly
• Plan routes, manage logistics, and maintain communication with dispatch and customers
• Maintain detailed logbooks and comply with hours-of-service rules
• Execute proper loading, securement, and tarp application of specialized freight
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and keep your equipment in road-ready condition

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with a clean driving record
• Minimum two years over-the-road flatbed or stepdeck experience
• Ownership or financing capability for a truck meeting industry standards
• Expertise in freight securing, load distribution, and tarp application
• Proficiency with dispatch systems, GPS, and logbook software
• Professional communication and strong customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed
