About the Role
As Morning News Producer for our Baton Rouge television station, you'll oversee the editorial strategy and execution of early morning broadcasts. You'll make split-second decisions during live production, coordinate multiple storytelling threads, and ensure every segment hits its mark with clarity, accuracy, and impact.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage broadcast rundowns, structuring stories and segments for compelling morning news delivery
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, and camera operators to develop and refine news packages
- Monitor wire services and breaking developments during the morning shift to react and adjust coverage in real time
- Edit and fact-check news content, ensuring editorial standards and broadcast readiness
- Direct production decisions that respond to breaking stories and emerging news
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining technical specifications and newsroom protocols
