This full-time, on-site Technical Media Producer (Primary) position at WCAX places you at the heart of daily broadcast operations in Queen Park, Chittenden County. As the primary technical producer, you will operate the systems and tools that translate editorial vision into polished, on-air programming, ensuring every newscast and segment meets the high production standards audiences expect from a Gray Media station.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the technical production of live and recorded broadcasts as the primary operator for WCAX programming.
- Coordinate audio, video, graphics, and switching elements to deliver clean, professional output.
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and on-air talent to execute show rundowns accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor broadcast equipment and signal quality, troubleshooting technical issues quickly to keep programming on the air.
- Support consistent, error-free playout across daily and breaking-news situations.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with television broadcast or media production technology in a live environment.
- Working knowledge of production switchers, audio boards, graphics systems, and related broadcast tools.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay composed under the pressure of live programming.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach within a fast-moving newsroom team.
