Motion Graphic Artist – Wlbt

Gray Media is seeking a Motion Graphic Artist to join our Jackson, Hinds County broadcast operations team. In this full-time role, you'll create compelling visual content for one of the nation's top-rated local television stations, supporting dynamic news, sports, and entertainment programming that reaches audiences across the region.

About the Role

As Motion Graphic Artist at Gray Media, you'll design, animate, and produce high-quality graphics and motion sequences that enhance broadcast storytelling. Working in a collaborative newsroom environment, you'll transform creative concepts into visually engaging broadcast content that strengthens viewer connection and reinforces station brand identity.

What You'll Do

• Design and animate motion graphics for news broadcasts, weather segments, sports coverage, and promotional campaigns
• Create station branding elements, lower thirds, transitions, and visual effects
• Collaborate with news directors, producers, and on-air talent to develop graphics that align with editorial vision
• Produce broadcast-ready graphics within tight deadline-driven production schedules
• Maintain technical proficiency with industry-standard design and animation software
• Ensure all graphics comply with broadcast resolution, color, and technical format specifications

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency with professional motion graphics software including Adobe Creative Suite and After Effects
• Strong portfolio demonstrating broadcast graphics or motion design experience
• Solid understanding of broadcast technical requirements and file format specifications
• Excellent attention to detail with strong visual design sensibilities
• Ability to work independently and consistently meet broadcast deadlines
• Collaborative approach with clear communication skills
• Familiarity with current design trends and animation techniques
