RN Shift Supervisor – ER

Tenet Healthcare seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our Emergency Department during day shifts in Alamo, Contra Costa County. As RN Shift Supervisor, you'll provide clinical leadership and operational oversight that directly impacts patient outcomes and team performance.

About the Role

In this full-time supervisory position, you'll take the helm of our ER team during your assigned shift, blending direct patient care expertise with leadership responsibility. Your focus will be ensuring our emergency department runs smoothly while maintaining the clinical excellence our patients deserve.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor nursing staff, assessing individual strengths and scheduling needs to optimize team coverage and capability
• Apply evidence-based nursing principles to coordinate care delivery across multiple patients with varying acuity levels
• Customize clinical protocols to meet the developmental and age-specific needs of all patients entering the emergency department
• Partner with physicians, ancillary staff, and support services to ensure seamless, efficient care delivery
• Monitor unit operations, respond to emergent situations, and make real-time decisions that prioritize patient safety
• Model professional nursing practice and maintain compliance with departmental standards and hospital policies

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in California and active experience in emergency nursing
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse clinical teams
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
