Registered Nurse Orthopedics Lead – OR – FT Days

Join Tenet Healthcare's orthopedic surgical team in Tolleson, Maricopa County, as a Registered Nurse Orthopedics Lead. We're seeking an experienced OR nurse leader to guide a dynamic surgical team, mentor staff, and deliver exceptional patient outcomes in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse Orthopedics Lead in the OR, you'll combine direct patient care expertise with nursing leadership to drive quality and efficiency in orthopedic surgery. This position requires you to manage daily OR operations, supervise surgical nursing staff, coordinate with physicians and anesthesia teams, and ensure every patient receives evidence-based, compassionate care aligned with current orthopedic best practices.

Core Duties

• Provide direct bedside and intraoperative nursing care, applying the nursing process to individual patient needs and surgical requirements
• Assess, plan, and delegate tasks to OR nursing staff and surgical technicians, maintaining clear communication and accountability
• Coordinate care planning across surgical disciplines, including surgeons, anesthesia providers, and recovery nurses
• Monitor patient safety protocols, infection control measures, and surgical site management throughout procedures
• Train, mentor, and develop nursing staff, ensuring competency in orthopedic OR protocols and emergency response
• Collaborate on surgical preference cards, equipment setup, and room turnover efficiency
• Document clinical observations, complications, and outcomes accurately and timely

Requirements

• Current Arizona RN license in good standing
• Minimum 3+ years of nursing experience, with proven OR or orthopedic clinical background preferred
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification or willingness to pursue within 12 months
• Demonstrated leadership ability with the capacity to motivate and supervise healthcare teams
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, asepsis, and orthopedic procedures
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to work full-time day shifts and maintain physical stamina for operating room demands
