Registered Nurse II (RN) – Operating Room

Join Tenet Healthcare in Garden Ridge, Comal County, as a Registered Nurse II (RN) in the Operating Room. In this full-time position, you'll deliver expert surgical nursing care under minimal supervision while supporting our mission to provide exceptional patient outcomes.

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse II in the Operating Room, you'll play a critical role in our surgical services team, caring for patients across all age groups. Operating as a trusted member of the surgical team, you'll combine clinical expertise with compassion to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments and care planning
• Assist surgical teams during operative procedures while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety standards
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, clinical responses, and outcomes throughout the perioperative period
• Prepare and manage surgical equipment, supplies, and the operating room environment
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated surgical care
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, post-operative expectations, and recovery protocols
• Demonstrate proficiency in all position competencies during the designated introductory period

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in Texas
• Prior experience in perioperative, acute care, or critical care nursing preferred
• Advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic surgical environment
• Strong commitment to patient safety and evidence-based nursing practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal teamwork capabilities
• Willingness to complete orientation and achieve all required position competencies
