CT Tech – Inpatient

Miami Valley Hospital is seeking a CT Tech - Inpatient to join its imaging team in Kettering, Montgomery County.

About the Role

As an Inpatient Computed Tomography Technologist, you will perform high‑quality CT scans for hospitalized patients, supporting physicians with precise diagnostic information. You’ll work closely with nursing staff, radiologists, and other technologists to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety throughout the imaging process.

What You'll Do

• Prepare patients for CT examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns.
• Operate CT scanners according to established protocols, adjusting technical factors to obtain optimal images while minimizing radiation dose.
• Monitor patient vital signs and comfort during scans, intervening promptly if any adverse reactions occur.
• Review acquired images for quality and completeness, performing basic post‑processing when needed and forwarding studies to radiologists for interpretation.
• Maintain equipment functionality through routine checks, cleaning, and reporting any malfunctions to biomedical services.
• Document all relevant information in the electronic health record, including dosage, contrast administration, and patient identifiers.
• Adhere to hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and radiation safety standards at all times.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advances in CT technology.

What We're Looking For

• Current certification as a Registered Technologist (RT) in Computed Tomography (ARRT) or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a radiologic technologist in Ohio.
• Minimum of one year of experience performing CT scans in an acute care or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with multi‑detector CT scanners and familiarity with dose reduction techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by inpatient coverage.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a commitment to patient safety and image quality.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred but not required.
