What You'll Do
- Prepare patients for CT examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them correctly, and addressing any concerns.
- Operate CT scanners according to established protocols, adjusting technical factors to obtain optimal images while minimizing radiation dose.
- Monitor patient vital signs and comfort during scans, intervening promptly if any adverse reactions occur.
- Review acquired images for quality and completeness, performing basic post‑processing when needed and forwarding studies to radiologists for interpretation.
- Maintain equipment functionality through routine checks, cleaning, and reporting any malfunctions to biomedical services.
- Document all relevant information in the electronic health record, including dosage, contrast administration, and patient identifiers.
- Adhere to hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and radiation safety standards at all times.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advances in CT technology.
What We're Looking For
- Current certification as a Registered Technologist (RT) in Computed Tomography (ARRT) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a radiologic technologist in Ohio.
- Minimum of one year of experience performing CT scans in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with multi‑detector CT scanners and familiarity with dose reduction techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by inpatient coverage.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a commitment to patient safety and image quality.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred but not required.
