Join Hartford Hospital's dedicated adult inpatient nursing team as a Registered Nurse at our Barry Square location in Hartford County. This full-time evening shift position offers meaningful patient care in a healthcare environment where every moment counts.
About the Role
This Registered Nurse position in our adult inpatient unit is based in the HH Donnelly Building and operates on a 40-hour evening schedule with every-other-weekend rotation. You'll work a combination of 12-hour shifts (11:00 AM–11:30 PM) and 8-hour shifts (3:00 PM–11:30 PM), allowing for flexible scheduling while maintaining consistent patient relationships and continuity of care.
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct clinical care to adult inpatients with compassion and professional competency
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and document findings in electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and respond to patient needs throughout your shift
- Educate patients and families about their conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain a safe, clean care environment and follow all infection control and safety protocols
What We're Looking For
- Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license or multi-state license valid in Connecticut
- Clinical nursing experience, particularly in adult inpatient or acute care settings
