Join Hartford Hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Medicine ICU and contribute to exceptional patient care in Granby, Hartford County. This full-time nursing position offers the opportunity to deliver critical care in a state-of-the-art facility within Connecticut's largest healthcare network.

About the Role

As an RN in the Medicine ICU, you'll work on the permanent night shift in the HH Bliss Wing at our Jefferson Street location. This position offers a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend and every other holiday off, providing predictable work-life balance while delivering intensive care to medically complex patients.

What You'll Do

  • Provide direct patient care for acutely ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
  • Monitor vital signs, laboratory values, and patient responses to medications and treatments
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment and monitoring systems
  • Document patient assessments and nursing interventions accurately and thoroughly
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and medical conditions
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort while managing complex medical and psychological needs

What We're Looking For

  • Current Connecticut RN licensure in good standing
  • Clinical experience in intensive care or acute care nursing preferred
  • Ability to assess rapidly changing patient conditions and prioritize care decisions
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice and patient-centered care
  • Flexibility to work night shifts and a rotating schedule
