About the Role
Natchaug Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care on our Inpatient Adult Unit. Working an evening shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with rotating weekend coverage, you'll play a vital role in the recovery and wellbeing of adult inpatients across a medical-surgical or specialty care setting.
What You'll Do
- Assess, monitor, and respond to the changing health status of adult patients throughout your shift
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining accurate documentation and medication safety standards
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions
- Perform wound care, infection control procedures, and technical nursing interventions
- Advocate for patient rights and comfort while maintaining professional and ethical nursing standards
What We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure in Connecticut
- Clinical experience in acute care, medical-surgical nursing, or related inpatient settings preferred
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple patients with compassion and professionalism
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
- Comfort working in a collaborative team environment and rotating weekend schedule
