St. Vincent's Medical Center in Danbury, Fairfield County, is seeking a full-time Graduate Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed RN to launch your nursing career in a supportive healthcare environment where your growth matters and patient care is paramount.

About the Role

As a Graduate Nurse in our Medical-Surgical unit, you'll provide direct patient care in a dynamic acute-care setting. This full-time position operates on a rotating evening and night schedule, including 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. shifts. You'll work every other weekend (Friday and Saturday) and every other hospital-recognized holiday as part of our staffing model.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical patients
  • Assess patient conditions, develop and implement care plans, and monitor patient progress
  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and patients' families
  • Document patient care accurately and communicate effectively with all shifts
  • Support safe medication administration and patient safety protocols
  • Respond to patient needs and changes in condition with attentiveness and skill

What We're Looking For

  • Current RN licensure in Connecticut (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN, ADN, or diploma)
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work rotating evening/night shifts and weekend schedules
  • Genuine commitment to patient-centered care
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a team-oriented environment
