Join St. Vincent's Medical Center in Wilton as a Graduate Nurse (RN) in our Medical-Surgical unit. This full-time position offers new RNs the opportunity to launch their nursing career in a supportive environment where patient care and team wellbeing go hand in hand.
About the Role
This is a full-time Graduate Nurse position in Medical-Surgical nursing, working rotating evening and night shifts to meet our patient care needs around the clock. You'll rotate between 3:00 PM–11:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM schedules, with every other weekend assignment (Friday and Saturday) and every other HHC-recognized holiday required. This schedule is designed to build your clinical experience across diverse patient populations and shift dynamics.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care for Medical-Surgical inpatients in a hospital setting
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, responses to treatment, and nursing interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient recovery and comfort
- Learn and apply evidence-based nursing practices under the guidance of experienced colleagues
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Develop foundational competencies in time management, clinical judgment, and professional nursing standards
What We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure in Connecticut or eligible to obtain licensure
- Recent nursing school graduate or early-career RN transitioning to Med-Surg
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to meet the demands of acute care nursing
