Join St. Vincent's Medical Center as a Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedic and Neurology patient care in Redding, Fairfield County. We're seeking a dedicated RN to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and managing neurological conditions on our evening shift team.
About the Role
This is a full-time, 32-hour per week evening position (3 PM–11:30 PM) within our Orthopedic and Neuro unit. You'll be at the heart of patient recovery, providing skilled nursing care, monitoring post-operative progress, managing pain and symptom relief, and collaborating with physicians, therapists, and care teams to support patients throughout their healing journey.
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor patient vital signs, neurological status, and post-operative recovery
- Administer medications and manage pain control protocols
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and monitor for complications
- Assist patients with mobility, positioning, and physical therapy coordination
- Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment plan, and discharge care
- Document patient progress and communicate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Respond promptly to patient needs and advocate for safe, quality care
What We're Looking For
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional nursing standards
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Experience in orthopedic and/or neuro nursing preferred
- Flexibility and reliability for evening shift scheduling
