Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential professional services organization in München that is building AI-powered workflows for financial compliance. As a working student for digital document verification, you will serve as the quality control layer between automated systems and final deliverables.

You will review documents and transaction data flagged by machine learning systems, verifying vendor details, tax classifications, time periods, and client assignments. When the AI proposes a match or categorization, you confirm, correct, or reject it. You identify patterns where automation consistently misreads certain document types, suppliers, foreign currencies, or formats, and report technical issues when data feeds fail or duplicate.

Cases that cannot be resolved automatically come to you: unclear payment partners, contradictory assignments, edge cases without precedent. You research the facts and resolve them within defined criteria; anything requiring professional judgment escalates to a licensed professional. You document your solution so it can be automated next time.

You communicate with clients in writing to request missing documents with specific deadlines, following up until closure. You explain clearly why a document is insufficient and what is needed instead. From your corrections and the patterns you identify, you collaborate with engineering and design to create rules, prompts, and model improvements. You test new automation against real cases and help decide what gets automated next.

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled at a university (field of study is secondary); available at least 15 hours per week for a minimum of 12 months
• Analytical thinking: you recognize patterns and anomalies in data, draw correct conclusions from individual cases, and can articulate why something is incorrect
• Reliable quality at high volume: you work thoroughly even when the AI is correct most of the time, because exceptions are easy to miss precisely then
• Interest in AI and automation: you want to understand why a system suggests something, not just what it suggests
• Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets and digital tools; eager to learn new software quickly
• Clear, friendly written communication in German (C1/C2); client contact is primarily written
• Independence and accountability: remote work only functions when commitments are kept
• Interest in staying long-term and taking on responsibility

Nice to have: Business understanding of how a transaction flows from invoice to payment; exposure to accounting, bookkeeping, or commercial administration from internships or jobs; experience in high-volume data environments (operations, back office, support, fulfillment, payment); practical experience with AI tools or simple automation (prompts, formulas, filters, basic scripts). Prior professional services experience and programming skills are not expected.
