Werkstudent*in Community Management (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential media organization seeking a working student for community management. In this role, you will:

• Manage online communities across multiple digital channels, responding to questions with care, engagement, and empathy
• Serve as a solution-oriented liaison between the organization and its social media audiences
• Support the editorial team during crisis management situations, helping to de-escalate tensions professionally
• Provide background research, fact-checking, and context to community discussions
• Collaborate closely with social media teams, delivering community insights that inform content strategy
• Create original text concepts and social media posts in coordination with the content teams
• Contribute to topic development and content planning for various formats

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in humanities, media studies, communications, or a related field
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to strike the right tone for diverse audiences
• Strong command of the German language with confident, engaging writing abilities
• Deep familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and digital culture
• Ability to maintain focus and quality under time pressure; stress resilience is essential
• Reliable, precise, and capable of working independently
• Enthusiasm for research with a strong understanding of credible sources
• Team player with strong communication skills; prior community management experience is a plus
• Proficiency with common Adobe and MS Office applications
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken

This position is available in Mainz or Berlin for up to 20 hours per week, initially on a fixed-term contract.
