Web Frontend Engineer – JS, CSS, React, Flutter

Responsibilities

Our client, a globally distributed open-source technology organization, is seeking a Web Frontend Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will:

• Design and implement well-tested, documented software using modern web technologies and Flutter
• Debug and resolve issues encountered by end users
• Participate actively in code and architectural reviews
• Collaborate with colleagues on technical specifications and implementation
• Contribute to technical documentation and best practices
• Deploy and operate services developed by the team
• Drive continuous improvements to engineering and operations practices
• Support product success through technical advocacy

What We're Looking For

We are representing our client in their search for candidates with:

• An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM field, or compelling alternative path
• Proven track record of exceeding expectations and self-starting initiative
• Strong organizational skills with ability to deliver to schedule
• Experience designing and writing high-quality web applications
• Hands-on expertise with TypeScript, React, or Flutter
• Strong understanding of accessibility and performance optimization
• Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
• Professional written and spoken English
• Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, and accountability
• Ability to travel twice yearly for team events (up to two weeks each)

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with container technologies such as LXD, Docker, or Kubernetes
• REST API design and development experience
• Performance engineering and security expertise
• Attention to detail in user-centric UI development
