About This Opportunity

We are representing a growing digital marketing agency in Hamburg that specializes in Google Ads and web analytics for e-commerce clients across the DACH region. Our client is seeking a Web Analyst & Tracking Expert to take ownership of their tracking infrastructure and analytics operations.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with leadership, gradually taking over responsibility for the entire analytics function while supporting performance marketing teams and clients with reliable, actionable data.

Responsibilities

• Web Tracking Implementation: Design and plan tracking concepts tailored to client needs; manage Google Tag Manager (including server-side implementations) across all projects; implement server-side tracking solutions to maximize data collection
• Technical Troubleshooting: Independently identify and resolve tracking errors for new and existing clients; serve as the primary technical resource for colleagues on tracking matters
• Analytics & Reporting: Conduct regular analyses using Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity; build complex dashboards and reports using Data Studio with multiple data sources for internal and external stakeholders
• Ad-Hoc Analysis: Deliver valuable insights to support client optimization and performance marketing decisions
• Data Infrastructure (Nice to Have): Contribute to data warehouse development and internal tool enhancement using AI-driven approaches

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with web analytics, GA4, and Google Tag Manager; agency background strongly preferred
• Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Microsoft Clarity; fundamental understanding of Google Ads and online marketing; comfort with scripts and technical implementation; bonus for server-side tracking experience and SEA-specific tools
• Analytical Capabilities: Strong command of attribution models, consent banner configurations, and competitive analysis; ability to build meaningful dashboards and derive data-driven conclusions
• Work Style: Proactive, hands-on mentality suited to a small team environment (currently 6 people); customer-oriented, independent, structured, and goal-focused approach with strong service orientation
• Communication: Confident presence and strong communication skills for client and team interactions; fluent German (required for client contact) and English in speaking and writing
• Location: Must have permanent residence in Germany
• Education (Preferred): Degree in business, economics, or comparable field
