Travel MedSurg RN in Dickson, Tennessee

Join Gifted Healthcare as a full-time Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse serving the Waverly and Humphreys County area of Tennessee. This position offers the chance to deliver direct bedside care to post-operative and acute medical patients while building diverse clinical experience through travel nursing.

About the Role

As a Travel MedSurg RN, you'll provide comprehensive patient care to adults recovering from surgery and managing acute medical conditions. You'll work in collaboration with surgeons, physicians, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal recovery and patient wellbeing throughout hospitalization.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's clinical needs and recovery goals
• Monitor vital signs continuously, assess wound healing, and report significant clinical changes to the care team
• Prepare, administer, and accurately document all prescribed medications while providing patient education about treatment
• Perform sterile dressing changes, wound care, and infection prevention procedures
• Operate and troubleshoot medical equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and oxygen therapy systems
• Assist physicians and surgeons during examinations and procedural interventions
• Maintain detailed, compliant documentation and patient records
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care, discharge planning, and medication management

What We're Looking For

• Current, unrestricted Tennessee RN license
• At least one to two years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Proven ability to prioritize care for multiple patients with clinical confidence and sound judgment
• Strong assessment and communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Physical ability to manage the demands of 12-hour shifts in a bedside nursing role
• Professional flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a travel nursing assignment
