Travel PACU RN in Tahlequah, Oklahoma

Gifted Healthcare is seeking an experienced Travel PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time assignment in Pettit, Cherokee County, serving the Tahlequah, Oklahoma area. As a travel PACU RN, you'll provide critical post-operative patient care in a surgical services environment, working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.

About the Role

This full-time travel nursing opportunity places you in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), where you'll specialize in patient recovery during the critical period following surgical procedures. You'll be central to ensuring smooth transitions from the operating room and delivering compassionate care when patients need it most.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic parameters during immediate post-operative recovery
• Assess patient pain levels and administer post-operative medications per physician and anesthesia provider orders
• Manage airway support, oxygen delivery systems, and respiratory care as patients emerge from anesthesia
• Identify and respond to post-operative complications, including cardiac arrhythmias and respiratory distress
• Perform wound care, change surgical dressings, and manage drainage systems
• Provide discharge instructions and post-operative education to patients and families prior to transfer
• Document detailed patient assessments and nursing interventions in the medical record
• Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes and safety

What We're Looking For

• Current Oklahoma RN license or eligibility to obtain one
• 2+ years of nursing experience with PACU experience preferred
• Competency with cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry, and post-operative assessment
• Excellent patient communication and education abilities
• Adaptability and performance in dynamic surgical environments
• Genuine compassion for patients during recovery
• Commitment to travel nursing assignments
