About the Role
This travel nursing assignment offers a full‑time opportunity to work in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit, delivering critical recovery care to patients emerging from surgery. The placement spans 13 weeks with a guaranteed 36‑hour workweek composed of 12‑hour day shifts.
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive postoperative monitoring, including vital signs, neurological status, and pain management.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as ordered by the anesthesia and surgical teams.
- Assess and document patient recovery progress, communicating changes promptly to physicians.
- Educate patients and families on postoperative care instructions, wound management, and activity restrictions.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and unit safety standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure seamless handoffs from the operating room to the PACU.
- Accurately complete electronic health record entries and comply with all regulatory documentation requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Active, unrestricted RN license in good standing.
- Minimum of two consecutive years of recent experience in a PACU or Post Anesthesia Care setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, 12‑hour day shift environment.
- Willingness to travel and commit to a 13‑week assignment in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a patient‑focused mindset.
