About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential rail infrastructure technology client seeking a Track Integrity Measurement Specialist to join their technical service team. This is a fully remote position based in the United States, supporting advanced measurement and inspection systems deployed across North America and internationally.

Our client operates specialized railroad equipment utilizing cutting-edge measurement technologies. You will provide field support, troubleshooting, and technical training while coordinating with operations teams and customers to ensure safe, productive equipment performance.

Responsibilities

  • Travel extensively (70%+) to customer sites to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair advanced measurement systems including X-ray inspection, laser measurement, and industrial control systems
  • Utilize proprietary software to diagnose equipment problems and maximize productivity of specialized railroad equipment
  • Lead upgrade and overhaul projects involving programming, electrical installation, hardware configuration, and commissioning
  • Work with device-level networks including Ethernet TCP/IP and industrial networking protocols to reduce equipment downtime
  • Schedule and coordinate technician visits using enterprise asset management systems
  • Design and deliver technical training programs for internal teams and external customers using electronic media and hands-on simulations
  • Analyze performance data and historical trends to recommend design modifications that reduce lifecycle costs and improve safety
  • Maintain railroad certifications and Nuclear Regulatory Commission compliance as required
  • Provide work direction to field operators and assist in technician performance evaluations
  • Prepare technical reports documenting repairs, diagnostics, and field operations

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years developing and/or troubleshooting proprietary computer software
  • 5+ years working experience troubleshooting electrical systems using schematics and diagrams
  • Demonstrated experience with X-ray inspection systems including calibration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with low voltage control systems including relay logic, discrete/analog I/O, and sensor devices
  • Proficiency with non-contact laser measurement systems including calibration and troubleshooting
  • Strong background in industrial computers, networking components, database management, and computer repair
  • Experience with GPS systems installation, calibration, and maintenance
  • Advanced data analysis skills using Microsoft Office, SQL, and proprietary software platforms
  • Familiarity with Ethernet TCP/IP and serial communication networks
  • Ability to maintain a flexible travel schedule with 70%+ field time
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering
  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Background working with Microsoft SQL Server or similar database platforms
  • 7+ years combined education and software troubleshooting experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination including DOT Physical, drug and alcohol screening, and audiogram
  • Pass railroad industry background check (eRailSafe/eVerifile) with ongoing compliance required
  • Verification of post-secondary education and prior relevant employment experience

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally in office settings
  • Tolerance for variable and challenging conditions during railroad equipment inspections
  • Comfortable working in both office desk environments and active rail operations settings
