About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential agricultural technology client in their search for a Territory Manager to cover the Sandhills region of Nebraska. This role combines field sales with hands-on customer success—think coffee at kitchen tables, side-by-side tours of pastures, and building genuine relationships within the ranching community.

Our client is revolutionizing how cattle operations work through innovative technology solutions. As their Territory Manager, you'll drive new business growth while ensuring customer satisfaction across your designated region. This isn't a desk job—you'll be out on ranches, attending cattle auctions, and engaging with local livestock associations to build your pipeline and support existing customers.

Frequent travel throughout the territory is required.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Build your pipeline through outbound efforts—driving up driveways, attending cattle auctions, connecting with local Cattleman's and Stockman's associations, and responding promptly to inbound leads.
  • In-Field Sales: Conduct consultative sales conversations on ranches, in pastures, and wherever customers feel comfortable discussing their operations. Get hands dirty when needed—whether that's helping gather cattle or dropping off coffee during calving season.
  • Account Expansion: Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within your existing customer base to maximize long-term value and deepen relationships.
  • Pipeline and Target Management: Meet ambitious sales targets through disciplined pipeline management. Balance closing current deals with nurturing future opportunities.
  • Customer Success: Maintain close post-sale relationships to ensure ongoing satisfaction. Own the end-to-end customer experience during onboarding and deployment, coordinating with internal teams for smooth handoffs.
  • Territory Ownership: Serve as the face of the organization in your region. Build relationships with local, state, and federal agricultural stakeholders and represent the company at industry events.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather and communicate field learnings and customer insights to product, support, and leadership teams to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with support, onboarding, and product teams to resolve customer issues quickly and ensure customers feel fully supported.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend and leverage cattle industry events, conferences, and local meetups for lead generation and relationship building.

What We're Looking For

  • Ranching or Cattle Industry Experience: Direct knowledge of cattle operations and the challenges ranchers face. You speak the language and understand what matters to this community.
  • Proven Sales Track Record: History of creating new business opportunities, conducting value-based sales conversations, and consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Customer Success Mindset: Ability to build long-term relationships versus transactional sales. You care about customer outcomes after the deal closes.
  • Territory Management Experience: Track record managing a large geographic territory, ideally within agriculture or technology sectors.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication with customers and internal stakeholders. You're prepared, professional, and proactive.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Resourceful and quick-thinking when challenges arise. Comfortable collaborating across teams to find solutions.
  • Results-Driven Attitude: Motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in high-stakes environments. You don't wait for permission to act.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the Nebraska Sandhills region.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with precision agriculture or emerging agricultural technologies
  • Background in agricultural technology customer-facing roles
  • Experience selling B2B SaaS solutions
