Temporary Staff Pharmacist – Vanderbilt University Hospital

Vumc is seeking a Temporary Staff Pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. As a full-time temporary pharmacist, you'll provide critical medication management services and clinical expertise across our hospital settings.

You'll work as part of Vanderbilt's comprehensive pharmacy department, contributing to patient care and medication safety in a dynamic, fast-paced hospital environment. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, compound, and dispense medications according to prescriptions and established protocols
• Verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriate dosing, and potential interactions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to optimize patient medication therapy
• Maintain detailed medication records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Provide medication counseling and patient education when appropriate
• Monitor drug supply levels and assist with inventory management
• Support clinical pharmacy initiatives and quality improvement efforts

What We're Looking For

• Current, active pharmacy license in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain one
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy program
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, dosing, interactions, and clinical pharmacy practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a hospital setting and adapt to changing priorities
• Commitment to patient safety and medication accuracy
• Professional demeanor and willingness to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
