About the Role
In this Business Intelligence Developer position, you'll design and maintain the analytics infrastructure that enables teams throughout VSP to harness data for competitive advantage. You'll own the full lifecycle of intelligence solutions—from requirements gathering to deployment and optimization. This role requires both technical depth and business acumen, as you'll translate complex analytical challenges into scalable, elegant solutions that drive measurable impact.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources
- Develop and optimize dimensional data models and data warehouse architecture
- Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business stakeholders
- Partner with business leaders and analytics teams to understand reporting needs and deliver solutions
- Monitor data quality, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and implement quality assurance workflows
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance for efficiency and reliability
- Document technical designs, maintain system documentation, and mentor junior developers
What You Bring
- Deep expertise in SQL, including query writing, optimization, and data modeling
- Proven experience with business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Strong foundation in database design, data warehousing, and ETL concepts
- Experience with modern data stack technologies and tools
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical and debugging skills
- Experience working in a team environment with version control and collaborative development practices
