About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential retail client seeking a Temporary Production Manager for their footwear category. This is a leadership role focused on facilitating pre-production processes, production workflow management, and cross-functional collaboration across product development, design, and merchandising teams.

You'll serve as an expert troubleshooter with deep competencies in raw material management, cost negotiation, and delivery issue resolution while providing training and development for team members and direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage brand initiatives, control operations calendar deadlines, and oversee final allocations
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure successful business partnerships
• Analyze industry trends to identify supply base issues, reduce costs, minimize risk, and exploit emerging opportunities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to create calendars, meet deadlines, and communicate category strategy
• Improve adoption rates and hit approved line plan style counts measured by seasonal line plan actualization
• Calculate and manage rolling and final IMUs at order placement for variance analysis
• Strategize business opportunities including freight modes for distribution, flow, and margin optimization
• Provide IMU targets and guidance to negotiate final costing with vendors, ensuring margins are met or exceeded
• Assess and develop staff, building the appropriate team for effective day-to-day management
• Coach team members to generate creative solutions and respond to a rapidly changing business environment
• Coordinate team to deliver aesthetically correct samples and maintain pre-production timelines

What We're Looking For

• Significant leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience traveling overseas to evaluate vendors and determine areas of improvement
• Ability to supervise responsibilities to ensure accomplishment of department goals and deadlines
• Track record of promoting development of team members through supervision and training
• Pro-active approach to problem solving and implementing operational efficiencies
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes and respond with agility
• Driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency
• Strong competencies in raw material knowledge, price/costing, and delivery issue resolution
• Experience in footwear or related product categories preferred
