Head of Product Management for a LIMS in Clinical Diagnostics (B2B only)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential life sciences organization seeking a Head of Product Management to lead the strategy and execution of a B2B Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) serving clinical diagnostics operations across Europe and globally. This is a critical leadership role for someone who can bridge business strategy, user needs, and technical delivery.

You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle—from vision and roadmap through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement. Working closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams, you'll ensure the LIMS delivers measurable value while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain product vision, objectives, and value proposition for a clinical diagnostics LIMS
• Translate business strategy into a clear product roadmap aligned with enterprise architecture and compliance requirements
• Own product success metrics including value delivery, user adoption, satisfaction, and cost efficiency
• Serve as the single point of contact for the product across business, IT, and external partners
• Collect, analyze, and prioritize business needs and user feedback; facilitate decision-making and communicate trade-offs transparently
• Own and maintain the product backlog; define and prioritize epics, features, and requirements based on business value
• Work with delivery teams to plan and deliver product increments; support sprint planning, reviews, and validation
• Manage the full product lifecycle from ideation through delivery, operations, and eventual retirement
• Collaborate with support and operations teams to ensure stable system performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Support forecasting, budget tracking, and business case development for the product
• Provide regular status updates, dashboards, and product reporting to stakeholders; lead steering meetings

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role in an IT environment
• Strong understanding of software and IT product lifecycles
• Experience working with cross-functional teams spanning business, IT, and vendors
• Familiarity with agile and hybrid delivery models such as Scrum or SAFe
• Broad understanding of IT systems, applications, integrations, and data flows
• Experience with ITSM and delivery tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
• Awareness of security, compliance, and regulatory constraints in enterprise IT

Preferred Background:

• Experience in healthcare, testing, inspection, or certification industries
• Background in LIMS development or implementation

Skills:

• Ability to prioritize based on value, risk, and effort with a data-driven decision-making approach
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to influence without formal authority and navigate complex organizational environments
• Structured, proactive, and results-oriented working style
• Experience translating business needs into clear, testable requirements
