Technical Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in the transit technology sector, seeking a Technical Lead to join their passenger-facing applications team on a fixed-term contract basis (up to 12 months). This remote role is open to candidates based in Poland.

This is a hands-on leadership position with approximately 50% technical contribution and 50% people leadership. You'll lead delivery of native mobile and web applications while remaining actively involved in code, design, and architecture decisions. You'll guide a team of engineers while contributing directly to implementation, code reviews, and technical planning.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Own delivery across iOS, Android, and Web applications, removing blockers and maintaining predictable release cycles
• Remain hands-on with technical implementation, design discussions, and code reviews
• Drive SDK and public API integrations into passenger-facing applications
• Lead application migrations, release management, rollout planning, and deployment activities
• Support engineering practices that enable effective team delivery

People Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and support a team of engineers through regular 1:1s, coaching, performance feedback, and development conversations
• Create an environment where engineers can grow and do their best work
• Partner with Product and Engineering stakeholders to align priorities and delivery plans
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture
• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and team growth activities
• Provide visibility on delivery progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on engineering background with current expertise in at least one native platform (Swift/UIKit or Kotlin/Coroutines), with ability to work across both
• Proven experience leading technical delivery across engineering teams, owning quality through code review and design guidance
• Direct people management experience, including running 1:1s, coaching, and providing feedback
• Experience with multi-tenant or white-label products serving multiple customers from a single codebase
• Track record delivering and evolving production applications, including migrations or modernization efforts
• Knowledge and experience with SDK and API integrations
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and incorporating them into engineering workflows
• Strong communication skills with ability to keep stakeholders aligned while balancing coding and leadership responsibilities

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with release management, rollout strategies, and deployment processes
• Knowledge of CI/CD tooling and engineering quality practices
• Participation in hiring, onboarding, or team growth initiatives
• Prior experience in Fintech or Transit domains
