About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital media client seeking a French (Canada) Sports Localization Specialist with deep football expertise. This fully remote role focuses on ensuring sports content resonates authentically with Canadian French-speaking audiences.

Our client requires someone who lives and breathes football—from match commentary to player stats—and can adapt content that feels native to the Quebec market while maintaining technical accuracy and cultural relevance.

Responsibilities

• Review, localize, fact-check, translate, and adapt football-related content from English (US) to French (Canada)
• Perform quality control, translation, copy editing, and machine translation post-editing tasks
• Conduct market-specific research on local sports terminology, product trends, and localization best practices for Canadian audiences
• Ensure all content adheres to provided style guides and linguistic guidelines
• Provide constructive feedback on written content to maintain quality standards

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of professional experience in linguistics, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing
• Extensive football knowledge and genuine passion for the sport
• Proven experience translating and localizing multimedia content, including machine translation evaluation
• Native-level fluency in French (Canada) with excellent grammar and writing skills
• Strong creative writing, proofreading, and editing abilities
• Tech-savvy with practical knowledge of computers, mobile devices, word processors, and spreadsheets
• Licensed version of MS Office applications
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Bonus qualifications:

• Published work on major sports platforms or publications
• Experience with sports media platforms, live score applications, or streaming services
• Ability to adapt voice and style for Gen Z audiences and contemporary football fan culture
