Technical Escalations Engineer 2 (Network Monitoring) – EMEA

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential observability platform client in their search for a Technical Escalations Engineer 2 focused on Network Monitoring. In this role, you will serve as a critical technical resource at the intersection of customer success, engineering, and product teams.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Investigating complex technical escalations and leading high-stakes troubleshooting calls for critical customer challenges
• Developing deep expertise in network monitoring technologies including Network Device Monitoring, SNMP, Cloud Network Monitoring, and Network Path solutions
• Running office hours and delivering impactful learning sessions to mentor global support engineering teams
• Partnering with engineering and product teams to identify platform gaps and advocate for customer needs
• Building tooling, sandboxes, and automations to streamline debugging workflows for complex network issues
• Continuously learning as the platform evolves and staying current with emerging technologies

What We're Looking For

Our talent team is seeking a self-driven problem solver with strong network troubleshooting expertise and a passion for technical excellence. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Expert-level troubleshooting skills for network-specific issues in containerized environments like Docker and Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience across Linux, Windows, and MacOS with strong system-level administration skills (processes, services, networking, file systems, kernel, eBPF)
• Comfort working with CLIs, APIs, and configuration files (YAML/JSON)
• A client-centric approach with the ability to balance customer experience with technical feasibility
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving priorities
• Strong collaboration and mentoring skills with a commitment to raising the technical bar for the team
• Independent initiative and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations

Bonus qualifications:

• Computer Science or Engineering degree
• Experience with Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with observability platforms and monitoring integrations ecosystems
