Technical Account Manager (m/w/d) B2B M2M-Mobilfunk

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential telecommunications client in Cologne seeking a Technical Account Manager for their B2B M2M mobile communications division. This role puts you at the intersection of cutting-edge IoT technology and strategic customer relationship management, working with enterprise clients on mission-critical communication solutions including Smart Grid and Smart Metering applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive technical consultation and support to B2B customers on M2M communication solutions, particularly in Smart Grid and Smart Metering environments
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact, managing customer projects from presales consultation through technical onboarding, pilot phases, stable deployment, and ongoing expansion
• Support the sales team in presales activities through technical consulting, solution design, and customer presentations
• Address technical inquiries, perform structured root cause analysis, and deliver sustainable problem resolution during testing and live operations
• Collaborate closely with sales, customer service, product management, and technical departments
• Systematically incorporate customer requirements into product and service development roadmaps

What We're Looking For

• Deep knowledge of end-to-end IT and mobile network technologies for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication
• Demonstrated experience in Smart Grid and Smart Metering sectors
• Proven background consulting on complex IT and telecommunications solutions in B2B environments
• Strong understanding of modern mobile network technologies and secure IT communication pathways
• Experience with IP management and secure connectivity solutions including fiber-optic networks, APN structures, and API gateways
• Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented working style with strong initiative
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Solid project management experience with demonstrated ability to work in project-driven structures
• Fluent German and good English language skills, both written and spoken
• Completed degree or vocational training in electrical engineering, telecommunications, information technology, or comparable qualification, plus several years of relevant professional experience
