Tech Lead (f/d/m)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential climate-tech organization seeking a Tech Lead to join their engineering team in Berlin. Our client is building enterprise infrastructure that enables global corporations to manage sustainability assets with institutional-grade precision and transparency.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will architect scalable systems, drive engineering excellence, and translate product vision into reliable technology. You will own critical architectural decisions and make an immediate impact on a platform serving enterprise clients from day one.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale a B2B procurement platform with an enterprise-grade user interface designed for complex workflows and daily engagement
• Drive end-to-end technical strategy, design, and architecture, translating product requirements into performant, scalable features and microservices
• Lead by example with hands-on development, authoring high-quality, maintainable code across the TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js stack
• Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and rigorous code reviews to elevate team development standards
• Establish and maintain robust security, reliability, and performance standards across applications and cloud infrastructure
• Partner with product, design, and cross-functional teams to evaluate trade-offs and engineer optimal, user-centric solutions

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of technical leadership (2+ years) guiding teams through complex product deliveries
• Deep technical proficiency in TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem, with extensive hands-on experience building modern interfaces using React or Next.js
• Strong architectural expertise in RESTful API design, backend systems architecture, and relational data modelling (PostgreSQL experience preferred)
• Demonstrated commitment to engineering rigour, including software design patterns, enterprise web security standards, and modern development workflows (Git, feature branching)
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining services on cloud platforms like AWS, with familiarity in cloud-native infrastructure and continuous deployment
• Exceptional collaborative and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical decisions and mentor engineers effectively
• Basic familiarity with Python is a plus, or strong technical curiosity to expand into adjacent data processing technologies
