Full Stack Engineer, ML Platform

We are representing a confidential AI research organization at the forefront of machine learning innovation. Our talent team is searching for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join their ML Platform team in Berlin.

This role sits at the intersection of production engineering, data-intensive systems, and cutting-edge research. You'll build the platform that delivers advanced ML capabilities to technical users who demand reliability, performance, and intuitive experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core platform features spanning the complete user journey—from data ingestion and exploration through model inference and results visualization
• Architect backend services that support real-time model inference with low latency and high availability at scale
• Collaborate directly with research teams to productionize new model capabilities and translate breakthrough research into production-ready features
• Own the frontend experience for sophisticated technical users including data scientists and ML engineers who expect polished, performant interfaces
• Build data-intensive applications that handle complex analytical workflows
• Contribute to architectural decisions across the full stack

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3+ years of experience building highly-available, user-facing products with full-stack ownership and demonstrated impact
• Proven track record developing data-intensive applications such as dashboards, analytics platforms, or data exploration tools
• Strong proficiency in both JavaScript/TypeScript and Python—not just functional, but genuinely skilled in both ecosystems
• Solid product instincts with a focus on user needs rather than just technical specifications
• Comfort working alongside ML systems—understanding model inputs, outputs, and failure modes well enough to build reliable interfaces, even if you're not training models yourself
• Enthusiasm for fast-moving environments where new ideas ship quickly and user impact is paramount

Bonus qualifications:

• Cloud infrastructure experience, particularly with GCP
• Background building developer tools, data platforms, or ML-adjacent products
• Experience with React, FastAPI, and Postgres

Location: Berlin-based role. In exceptional cases remote arrangements may be considered, typically requiring frequent travel to the Berlin office.
