Associate Product Owner

About This Opportunity

We are representing a B2B SaaS client based in Berlin that is building enterprise innovation infrastructure. They need an Associate Product Owner who can turn validated opportunities into clearly scoped, shippable work.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Berlin with no remote option. You will sit directly with the product team and own the complete journey from initial concept to shipped feature—writing specs, defining acceptance criteria, managing dependencies, and maintaining a backlog that keeps engineering moving forward.

Responsibilities

• Turn validated opportunities into scoped, sequenced work that engineers can start immediately—complete with specs, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and dependencies
• Run and maintain the product backlog through grooming, prioritization, and ensuring transparency on work status
• Serve as the interface between customer signals (support threads, customer success conversations, call notes) and the engineering queue
• Coordinate releases and verify that shipped features match original specifications
• Present product decisions to varied stakeholder groups, from engineering teams to enterprise clients
• Scope deep integrations, public APIs, embedded AI features, and workflow automation over your first year

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years in a product company where you personally wrote tickets and specifications—not delegated the work
• Technical fluency sufficient to discuss AI models, API contracts, estimates, and sequencing with engineers, and push back with solid reasoning
• Strong writing ability—you understand that a spec is a piece of writing that pulls together product direction, client feedback, and team knowledge
• Excellent design sense and understanding of what feels good for users; ability to build prototypes with AI and illustrate specs visually
• Experience at a company small enough that there was nowhere to hide from the consequences of poor scoping
• Comfort with direct, weekly feedback on your actual work and desire to be coached hard
• Daily fluency with AI tooling—we want to see your workflow, not hear it described
• Ambition to grow scope and eventually own major initiatives and roadmap decisions

Nice to have: B2B enterprise SaaS background, familiarity with corporate innovation or startup ecosystem workflows, Notion fluency
