Teamlead Software Development (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software organization based in Munich that is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide a cross-functional development team. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on technical contribution with people leadership in a remote-friendly, product-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of 4-6 software developers, providing both technical and career guidance
• Contribute to the development of core software components while taking on varied roles as coach, motivator, and technical sparring partner
• Maintain hands-on involvement through active development and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and feedback sessions with team members
• Support the personal growth and career progression of individual developers
• Foster team culture and cohesion through team-building activities and initiatives
• Lead hiring efforts for new team members and coordinate staffing needs with engineering leadership
• Take accountability for team outcomes and delivery timelines

What We're Looking For

• University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in Python; experience with C++ or Rust is a strong plus
• Proven experience managing or leading a software team, including hiring, conducting 1:1s, providing feedback, and delivering quality code on schedule
• Strong desire to continue coding while also making broader impact through team leadership
• Demonstrated accountability for team results and outcomes
• Positive energy and motivating presence that inspires others
• Fluency in English with strong communication skills; German fluency is a significant advantage
• Product-oriented mindset focused on building exceptional user experiences
• Excellent written communication skills and ability to work effectively in remote, asynchronous environments
• Comfort working in international, distributed teams
