Senior Accountant

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing New Space technology company headquartered in Munich. Our client is building next-generation satellite infrastructure and requires a Senior Accountant to manage financial operations in a dynamic, international environment. This is a permanent, hybrid role offering significant autonomy and the chance to shape accounting processes from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage day-to-day financial accounting operations
• Prepare and file monthly advance sales tax returns and other tax submissions
• Produce monthly financial statements in accordance with German Commercial Code (HGB) alongside external advisors
• Support preparation of annual financial statements under HGB and U.S. GAAP standards
• Act as liaison between accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and controlling functions
• Serve as primary point of contact for general accounting and tax matters
• Coordinate financial activities with international subsidiary entities
• Design and optimize accounting department processes

What We're Looking For

• Certified accountant, tax specialist qualification, or bachelor's degree in business administration (focus on auditing, taxation, accounting, or financial auditing)
• 3–5 years of proven experience in finance and accounting
• Deep knowledge of financial accounting and monthly/annual financial statement preparation under HGB
• Familiarity with German tax law, especially value-added tax regulations
• Experience with DATEV, NetSuite, and related accounting/tax software systems
• Very good written and spoken German; good command of English
• Structured, independent, solution-oriented working style
• Hands-on mentality with enthusiasm for responsibility in a growth-stage environment
• High initiative and interest in actively developing processes
• U.S. GAAP reporting experience is a plus
