Software Engineer Full-Stack– Order Tracking & Delivery Performance (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization in the logistics sector, and our talent team is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join their order tracking and delivery performance product.

In this role, you will contribute to both maintaining the current operational ecosystem and designing a modern, event-driven architecture. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conceive and Scale: Participate in architectural decisions to handle growing global delivery volumes and ensure system scalability.
• Integrate and Monitor: Connect new carrier systems and enhance performance dashboards tracking delivery and carrier on-time metrics.
• Elevate Standards: Champion engineering best practices, clean code principles, and reduce maintenance overhead through thoughtful design.
• Transform Architecture: Play a key role in migrating from a legacy system to a modern, modular, event-driven platform that supports critical business operations.

This is a backend-focused position (approximately 80% backend, 20% frontend adjustments), working with mission-critical applications that directly impact customer communications and key delivery performance indicators.

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a candidate with at least 3 years of experience developing complex, business-critical applications. The ideal profile includes:

• Backend Expertise: Strong command of Java (preferably Java 17+) and Spring Boot 3+ ecosystem.
• Frontend Capability: Ability to work autonomously with React to integrate features and adapt visual components on existing interfaces.
• Architecture and Resilience: Experience designing distributed systems, ideally with event-driven patterns (Kafka), focused on high availability and maintainability.
• Technical Stack Familiarity: Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, GCP, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Quality Culture: Commitment to clean code, security standards, comprehensive test coverage, and observability tools (Datadog, SonarQube).
• Team Spirit: Enthusiasm for collaborative work including pair/mob programming, constructive code reviews, and knowledge sharing within an agile team of six professionals.

Location: Lille, France (hybrid work arrangement available)
