Team Lead Engineering – Finance Automation

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential online gaming organization seeking a Team Lead to establish and grow their Finance Automation engineering practice. In this role, you will:

• Lead a product-focused engineering team building core B2B platform capabilities for internal business customers
• Partner closely with Finance stakeholders to translate financial and accounting requirements into scalable platform solutions
• Drive automation of reconciliation workflows, accounting processes, and financial data pipelines to reduce manual effort and increase operational reliability
• Ensure reliability, integrity, and auditability of finance-critical data across platform services and infrastructure
• Build and develop a high-performing team of 2 engineers, fostering an ownership-driven and reliability-focused culture
• Define and drive architectural decisions while contributing code alongside your team to solve complex technical challenges
• Champion effective use of AI in engineering workflows and explore AI opportunities within platform capabilities
• Deliver secure, robust, and maintainable technical solutions aligned with business needs
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure API alignment, technical interface consistency, and architectural coherence
• Own and operate the domain's microservices end-to-end

What We're Looking For

• Proven people leadership skills with an empowering, enabling management style
• Ability to translate complex business and financial requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Strong, current hands-on experience with Kotlin/Spring Boot and SQL (PostgreSQL)
• A "you build it, you run it" mindset with experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining microservices on Kubernetes
• Deep understanding of event-driven processing pipelines built on Kafka
• Strong engineering fundamentals in building secure, scalable, reliable systems including security-by-design and resilience patterns
• Experience operating production systems at scale
• Familiarity with agentic AI development practices and operating models
• Location: Hamburg, Germany with hybrid work flexibility
