Surgical Coordinator

Crane-center-careers-page is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Surgical Coordinator to join our team in West Lake Hills, TX. This full-time position plays a critical role in supporting our surgical services and ensuring exceptional patient care from pre-operative through post-operative phases.

About This Position

The Surgical Coordinator position is central to the smooth operation of our surgical center. You will serve as the primary point of contact between patients, surgeons, nursing staff, and administrative personnel, managing the complex logistics that make surgery successful. Your organizational skills and clinical knowledge will directly impact patient safety, satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-operative assessments, verify insurance authorization, and prepare patient charts and required documentation
• Schedule surgical procedures, manage the operating room calendar, and communicate appointment details to patients and clinical staff
• Obtain and verify consent forms, medical history, and any required testing or clearances before surgery
• Assist in patient preparation and positioning during procedures as directed by the surgical team
• Communicate post-operative instructions to patients and manage follow-up appointments and care coordination
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and facility protocols
• Resolve scheduling conflicts, respond to patient inquiries, and troubleshoot administrative challenges
• Support inventory management and assist with equipment sterilization and preparation

Who We're Looking For

• Current certification as a Surgical Technician, Registered Nurse, or equivalent clinical credential (or willingness to pursue certification)
• Experience in a surgical, perioperative, or healthcare setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical terminology
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and administrative staff
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and infection control standards
