Supplier FSQA Manager

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential food manufacturing organization in their search for a Supplier FSQA Manager. This remote position offers the opportunity to lead supplier quality and food safety programs across a diverse ingredient supply base, with a focus on spices, seasonings, herbs, and flavor systems.

This is a strategic role requiring domestic and international travel (30-50%) to evaluate and audit supplier facilities, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with rigorous quality and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier approval, qualification, and requalification programs for ingredients including spices, seasonings, herbs, dehydrated ingredients, and flavor systems
• Conduct comprehensive supplier audits and assessments at manufacturing facilities globally
• Perform risk-based supplier assessments and establish supplier risk ratings
• Issue detailed audit reports and manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs
• Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and key performance indicators to track quality metrics
• Analyze supplier performance trends including audit results, complaints, non-conformances, and CAPA effectiveness
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers through data-driven business reviews
• Partner with procurement teams to address supplier performance concerns and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, R&D, regulatory affairs, and commercial stakeholders
• Support product commercialization activities and provide expertise for investigations and supplier-related incidents
• Participate in crisis management and supply chain risk mitigation efforts
• Maintain supplier quality procedures, policies, and standards documentation

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, or related technical discipline
• Minimum 7 years of food manufacturing experience
• At least 5 years of experience in supplier quality, food safety, and/or supply chain management
• Demonstrated experience auditing food manufacturing facilities
• Proven track record managing supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement programs
• Strong technical knowledge of food safety systems and quality management frameworks
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in spice, seasoning, herb, flavor, botanical, or agricultural ingredient industries
• Lead Auditor certification (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000, or equivalent)
• PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification
• Experience with global sourcing and international supplier networks
• Knowledge of food fraud, food defense, and ingredient authenticity programs
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and co-manufacturers
