DevOps / SRE / DevSecOps Engineer (AWS) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software consultancy in their search for an experienced DevOps / SRE / DevSecOps Engineer to join their growing team. This remote position is based in El Salvador and offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly impact client success. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS services including ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, and S3
• Operate and optimize Aurora/PostgreSQL databases in production, managing multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and monitoring replica lag
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with robust deployment automation and tested rollback procedures
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Manage containerized applications using Docker and ECS/Fargate orchestration
• Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability systems using tools such as OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch
• Conduct load testing and ensure services meet latency SLOs and error budgets
• Implement security best practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance hardening
• Support SOC 2 audit evidence collection and respond to client security reviews
• Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and conduct thorough root-cause analysis
• Work with large, complex systems across multiple client engagements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles
• Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services in production environments
• Proven experience operating PostgreSQL/Aurora databases with high availability configurations
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with Docker containerization and ECS/Fargate orchestration
• Track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with reliable rollback capabilities
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms
• Familiarity with load testing tools and SLO-driven operations
• Security-first mindset with compliance experience
• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar audit processes
• Incident response and on-call experience
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong ownership, accountability, and problem-solving abilities
• Client-focused mindset with meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with S3 Object Lock and long-term archival for compliance
• Background supporting secure multi-tenant environments
• Experience with database migration tooling and schema evolution strategies
• Prior work in compliance-sensitive domains such as fintech or telecom
