Strategic Account Executive, Utilities | Install Base – IFS Copperleaf

IFS is hiring a Strategic Account Executive to lead utilities accounts and maximize install base potential with IFS Copperleaf solutions. This is a full-time remote position based in Itasca, Illinois, focused on growing customer value within your assigned utility sector accounts.

The Opportunity

In this Strategic Account Executive role, you'll own existing customer relationships within the utilities market, identifying expansion opportunities and driving incremental revenue through your assigned install base. Working remotely, you'll partner with utility companies to deepen their investment in capital project portfolio management and related solutions, combining consultative selling with account stewardship to unlock measurable business value and strengthen long-term client partnerships.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans for established utility customers, identifying upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities
• Conduct needs assessments and business reviews with customer leadership to understand current usage and future requirements
• Lead solution presentations and proposal development for new initiatives within the install base
• Collaborate with implementation, success, and product teams to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
• Manage the full sales cycle, including negotiation, contract closure, and deal governance
• Build strategic relationships with C-level and operations stakeholders at utility clients
• Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue accurately, and meet quarterly sales targets

What You Bring

• 5+ years of enterprise software sales experience in complex B2B environments
• Proven success selling to utilities, energy, or other regulated industries
• Demonstrated ability in managing and growing existing customer accounts
• Understanding of capital project management, portfolio optimization, and utility sector operations
• Consultative sales methodology and comfort navigating longer sales cycles
• Strong communication and executive presence for customer-facing interactions
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment with self-direction and accountability
