About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential market intelligence firm seeking a Staff Software Engineer, AI to join their Corporate Applications team. This is a remote-friendly position available anywhere in the United States.

Our client operates at the intersection of alternative data, enterprise analytics, and AI-powered insights. Their platform serves major retailers and Fortune 500 companies who depend on actionable intelligence to drive strategic decisions. You'll be building production AI Agent systems and analytics experiences that power critical business outcomes for these customers.

This role reports to the Head of Corporate Applications and offers significant ownership over full-stack features, AI-native development, and customer-facing product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Own features and systems end-to-end for AI Agent products—from requirements gathering and solution design through implementation, deployment, and iteration
• Serve as a subject matter expert across the stack, with hands-on mentorship in AI-native development, systems design, front-end development, and cloud infrastructure
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, shape requirements, and improve critical business processes
• Drive initiatives proactively—you'll help define what gets built, why it matters, and how to execute effectively rather than waiting for fully written specs
• Balance rapid prototyping with long-term engineering rigor, knowing when to build lightweight POCs versus scalable production systems
• Iterate closely with users and stakeholders, incorporating feedback quickly while maintaining strong engineering standards for quality, reliability, and observability
• Leverage AI coding tools to improve productivity and ship trustworthy solutions faster through strong engineering practices and documentation

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience with a proven track record shipping customer-facing applications and measurable impact
• Hands-on experience building production AI systems and a strong understanding of how to optimize AI agents for quality, reliability, latency, and cost
• Production experience building LLM-powered products and Agent Experiences, including designing Agent Loops, integrating Model Context Protocol (MCP), and developing custom tools
• Stack-flexible engineering skills: comfortable working across TypeScript, Python, React, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure (AWS experience preferred)
• Strong full-stack fundamentals: experience building high-quality user experiences, scalable backend systems, observable services, and reliable workflows
• AI-accelerated workflow—you actively use AI coding tools as part of your day-to-day engineering practice to improve output and ship faster
• Application architecture expertise: deep understanding of APIs, observability, messaging and workflow patterns, and how infrastructure decisions impact systems
• Passion for technology and staying current with emerging trends, tools, and engineering practices
• Deep care for craftsmanship and user experience, with a passion for delivering polished, high-quality solutions
• Strong communication skills to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, translate business needs into technical solutions, and explain engineering tradeoffs clearly
• Responsive and reliable—you take ownership of production systems and communicate proactively, especially under pressure
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical discipline

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $180,000 - $200,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on your experience, skills, and internal benchmarks.

Remote work note: This role may be performed fully remotely within the United States. The client's headquarters are in NYC with office hubs in Austin, Miami, and Mountain View. Depending on your remote work location, income may be subject to New York State tax withholding.
